The Ramayana is an ancient Indian Sanskrit epic poem, traditionally attributed to the sage Valmiki, that narrates the story of Prince Rama's life, his exile, his wife Sita's kidnapping by the demon king Ravana, and Rama's subsequent battle and victory to rescue her and return to his kingdom. The epic teaches universal human values and promotes the concept of Dharma, or righteous conduct, while embodying the principle of the victory of good over evil. It is a foundational text of Hinduism and has been adapted into numerous artistic forms across South Asia.

The Vedas, meaning “knowledge,” are the oldest texts of Hinduism. They are derived from the ancient Indo-Aryan culture of the Indian Subcontinent and began as an oral tradition that was passed down through generations before finally being written in Vedic Sanskrit between 1500 and 500 BCE (Before Common Era).

What defines Hinduism? Hinduism can be defined as a collection of the religion, culture, and philosophy of ancient India. It is characterized by a belief in reincarnation as well as in a supreme god or entity called Brahman who has multiple manifestations as a variety of deities.

In Sanatan Dharma (Hinduism), the concept of God is complex, encompassing the idea of a single, supreme reality called Brahman, which is formless and the ultimate source of everything. This singular Brahman is also understood to manifest in diverse forms, such as the Trimurti (Brahma, Vishnu, and Shiva), and numerous other gods and goddesses, who represent various functions and aspects of the divine. Therefore, Sanatan Dharma can be seen as both monotheistic (one God) and polytheistic (many gods), with the multitude of deities being individual expressions of the one supreme being

Durga Mata is a principal goddess in Hinduism, known as a form of the supreme goddess Devi, embodying power, strength, motherhood, and protection. Revered for her role in defeating evil forces and maintaining cosmic order, she is often depicted as a multi-armed warrior goddess riding a lion or tiger, carrying various weapons to combat demons like Mahishasura. Her worship is central to the goddess-centric tradition of Shaktism and is honored during major festivals like Navratri and Durga Puja.
